Kumar Nagarkoti, born on December 2, 1974, in Lalitpur, Nepal. He is a teacher and prominent Nepali writer, poet, and columnist, widely recognized for his surrealistic and magical realism writing style. His literary career began in 1999, with his first story, "Nikash" published when he was just 21. Nagarkoti's notable works include Ghatmandu, Kalpa-Grantha, and Mistika. He gained further attention for his novel "Gya", shortlisted for the prestigious Madan Puraskar in 2018. His work also spans plays, such as "Coma- A Political Sex", and experimental books like "Kalpa-Grantha", which includes 63 experimental tales. Nagarkoti's distinctive approach often incorporates non-traditional narratives, using birds and inanimate objects as narrators in his memoir "Docha". He is also a columnist for the "Shilapatra" news portal and refers to himself as a "fiction designer" rather than a traditional writer. With a rich blend of fiction, non-fiction, and dramatic works, Nagarkoti continues to influence contemporary Nepali literature.
