Porridge Eaters and Gruel Drinkers

सन्तोष लामिछानेको जन्म सन् १९८३ मा काभ्रेपलान्चोकको पाँचखालमा भएको थियो | उनी सानै उमेरमा अध्ययनको लागि काठमाडौँ आए । काठमाडौँबाट प्रवेशिका पास गरेपछि सन् २००२ मा उनी अमेरिका आए । उनले यूनिवर्सिटी अफ टेक्सास - आर्लिङ्ग्टनबाट २००७ मा स्नातक र यूनिवर्सिटी अफ विस्कान्सिन म्याडिसनबाट २०११ मा स्नातकोत्तर प्राप्त गरे । उनी म्याडिसनमा बस्छन् र दिगो उपभोग सम्बन्धि सल्लाहकारको काम गर्ने गर्छन् ।

सन्तोषका लागि कविता अप्रकटलाई प्रकट गर्ने प्राकृतिक र सुन्दर प्रयास हो । नेपाली र अंग्रेजीमा अनुवादीत नेपाली कविताको यो दुर्लभ संग्रहमा सन्तोषका शब्दहरू सशक्त वर्णनात्मक छन् र तिनले स्पष्ट भावनात्मक सन्देश दिन्छन् । पाठकले कवितामा व्यक्त संवेदनशीलता र आशय सजिलै र सरोष महसुस गर्न सक्छन् । यी कविताहरूले अवर्णनीय सत्य र आँखा खोल्ने वास्तविकता प्रफुस्टित गरेका छन् ।

Santosh Lamichhane was born in 1983 in Panchkhal, in the Kavrepalanchok district of Nepal. He moved to Kathmandu when he was a child. After finishing high school in Kathmandu, he came to the United States in 2002. He obtained his bachelor's degree in 2007 from the University of Texas at Arlington and his master's degree in 2011 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He lives in Madison and works as a Sustainable Use Consultant.

For Santosh, poems are natural and elegant attempts to manifest the unmanifested. In this rare collection of Nepali and English translated Nepali poetry, his words are powerfully descriptive, conveying vividly emotional messages. One can feel the sensitivity and meaning of the poems clearly and passionately. These poems exude ineffable truth and clarifying reality.
