The homeland of the Thakali based on several years of fieldwork since 1972, it provides a wealth of hitherto unrecorded detail and much insight on Thakali history, culture and society. Michael Vinding, born in Copenhagen in 1950, is a diplomat, presently Resident Coordinatior, Liasion Office of Denmark, Thimphu. Since 1972 he has researched the Thakali of Mustang District, Nepal. He is the author of Lha The Thakali 12 year Festival.
