His debut novel, "Antar" (2023), is a pioneering work in Nepali literature that explores the experiences and struggles of a gay man, providing insights into the complexities of LGBT issues in Nepal. Before venturing into novel writing, Sayan gained recognition for his poetry anthology "Bhagera Bhugolbhari" and his non-fiction work "Chhuteka Anuhar", which won the prestigious "Padmashree Literary Award in (2075 BS) 2018".
