Gopi Sapkota is a poet, playwright, and novelist from Nepal. He writes in Nepali and English. He has eleven books of poems, plays and novels to his credit. One of the most influential playwrights of Nepal, Sapkota was the founder director of Street Theater Group back in 1992. He has directed dozens of plays at various national and international venues. He co-edited Sunkeshra, a popular children’s magazine in Nepal. He also served as Secretary of Society of Nepali Writers in English from 2001 to 2007.
In recent days, two of his new novels ‘Kancho Kagaj’ (2021) and ‘Chiso Baaf’ (2023), along with his Creative Nonfiction ‘London Unplugged’ (2024) have gained significant popularity among Nepali readers.
