She has published more than fi ft een books besides numerous works in vernacular magazines and many of them have been translated into diff erent Indian languages and English. Th e English translation of her novel Felanee was shortlisted for the Crossword Book Award. She has received the Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad Award (1995), Katha award (1998), Sahitya Sanskriti Award (2009), Lekhika Samaroh Sahitya award (2011) and most recently, the Sahitya Akademi Award (2014).
