Product Description Like snapshots of faces in a crowd, the stories in this collection capture the fractured reality of life in Indias city of dreams. They jostle, push and straddle all things uniquely Mumbai, from the local estate agent to the daily train commuters, from the ad agencies to the beauty salons, the endless parties to the cyberspace affairs. A mother who waits up all night for her grown-up son, a young woman whose only respite from the pressures of work and family is the time she spends on the local train, a slumboy who pretends that home is a fancy highrise, the characters in each of these stories are rendered with unusual sensitivity. A colourful montage of contemporary Indian life, Window Seat brings alive the heart and soul of a city where it is always rush hour. About the Author Janhavi Acharekar is a freelance writer whose short stories appear in various anthologies of new writing.
