The Rhythm of Pain

The Rhythm of Pain encapsulates the agony and struggle of women in a world where gender bias has remained a prevalent barrier to women’s freedom. It is a sharp criticism of the harsh reality depicted by the author’s personal experiences, along with her observations of the consequent degeneration of women’s status since historical times. These poems are a conscious effort to evoke a sense of alarm and discomfort in the minds of the readers by reminding them of the bitter realities of womanhood and the systemic gender discrimination. With this collection, the author articulates her hope for a world devoid of discrimination — a world that is equal for all!

Ranjana Niraula is a writer, poet and editor with a Master’s degree in Sociology and Humanities. She is a research scholar currently residing in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her numerous poetry and essay collections include Chharieka Bhawana, Kalam Ra Ma and Anubhootiko Awataran. She is also the co-author of a poetry collection titled Nisedhagyaka Pratibimbaharu.
