The Light of Asia is a long poetic narrative of the life of Gautama Siddhartha, known as the Buddha, by Edwin Arnold (1832-1904) originally published in 1879; The Gita Govinda of Jayadeva (c. 1200 A.D.), translated from Sanskrit by Arnold in 1875, is based on the love of Radha and Krishna.
