Intermittently set between fantasy world history and a decade in Kathmandu, the novel follows the lives of the mythical Sisyphus and a young Mukti in their quest against the “Dark Warmth”, a feeling which renders a terrible awareness that existence is inherently meaningless.
In the decade following the end of the civil war in Nepal, Mukti grew angry and depressed, unable to find his identity. He becomes increasingly nihilistic and conducts himself with villainy against Kathmandu, the city which itself is caught between old and new conventions as brought by the vision of “Naya Nepal”
And Sisyphus, having being released by Zeus from his ordeal, is cast upon earth to heal humankind against “Dark Warmth”, and pursues the likes of Marcus Aurelius, Friedrich Nietzsche, Aswatthama and other notable historical figures to counsel and inspire humanity.
Read “The Absurdist of Kathmandu” to watch the world of Mukti and Sisyphus collide in this philosophical yet action packed tale through time and through ordeals.
