This series of Social Studies has been prepared according to the New Curriculum laid down by the Curriculum Development Centre (CDC). Social Studies as a subject cannot be confined to the study of history and geography alone. It includes a wide variety of disciplines like population, environment, civics, economics, religious practices, social norms and values in addition to history and geography.
A wide variety of exercises is given at the end of each lesson including classroom activities, community works, and project works. These are given as samples. It is up to the subject teacher to activate the students.
