I'll Wait takes us on a journey of self-growth and road to finding happiness. Naina is defined by a lot of things in life. At home she is someone's wife. Outside she is someone's friend. At work she is defined by her art. But she has lost sight of her own identity. For her friend's wedding, Naina comes back home to Surat to celebrate love when she still has no idea what love means after 5 years of marriage. Trapped in her marriage, Naina feels suffocated and is looking for her way out. To make things even more complicated, Rohan, her high-school lover comes back in her life reminding her of all the things that could have been. There is too much on line for Naina because in her culture marriage is not between two people but instead two families. The search for happiness has a price to pay. Through the lived lives of many characters, we get to see the societal problems rooted in the depths of the community.
