Grimms’ Fairy Tales is a lovely and unique collection of fairy tales by two German brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, more famously known as the Grimms Brothers. The brothers were German academics renowned for their collections of folktales and fairy tales, and also for their unparalleled work in linguistics. Not only did the brothers write fairy tales, but also collected the ancient tales from people as these fairy tales were a part of a rich oral tradition in Germany. Passed down from generation to generation, mostly by women who sought to pass the time in the midst of domestic chores, these tales were painstakingly collected by the Grimms Brothers and penned down on paper. In 188, the romantic poet Clemens Brentano who was a friend of the brothers requested them to collect literary fairy tales for his book. But when he eventually decided not to use them, the Grimms Brothers decided to publish their own collection of fairy tales. The rest is history! We bring you a handpicked collection of our favourite Grimms’ Fairy Tales in this book.
