Venerable Sharvasti Dhammika was born in Australia in 1951. He was ordained as a monk in India and later lived in Sri Lanka where he became well-known for his efforts to promote Buddhism. In 1985, he moved to Singapore where he was the spiritual advisor to the Buddha Dhamma Mandala Society and several other Buddhist Groups. Venerable Dhammika taught at the Education Department's Curriculum Development Institute and also made several television films for the Institute. A prolific writer, his other books include Encounters with Buddhism, How to Protect Yourself from Cults, All About Buddhism, and Middle Land Middle Way.
