I know Mr. Gyan Bahadur Chhetri as a dedicated, very active, well-informed Nepali writer and critic as well as a famed literary person of Assam, India. He has already received a very prestigious "Translation Award of Sahitya Academy," New Delhi, for the year 2016.
The present book enlightened me and reminded of the very famous literary persons of the Nepali literature, whom we remember and respect all the time.

The book presents first of all a brief history of Nepali language which naturally goes back to the ancient days of Prithvinarayan Shaha, the victorious king of Nepal around 300 years ago. The origin of Nepali language goes back to the 12th century Jumla Khasan area of Western Nepal but the writer's purpose is not to present any archaeological details, his purpose is rather to present a traceable root of old Nepali out of which modern Nepali developed. It is a critical study.
