Dr.Sangita Shrestha, also known as Sangita Swechcha, is a Nepali writer, poet, and scholar based in England. With a PhD from the University of Surrey, her literary career began at the age of 18 with her first novel Pakhalieko Siundo (republished as Seto Siundo in 2024), which delves into themes of emotional resilience and human trafficking through the story of a young Nepalese woman. Her works, spanning short stories, poetry, and novels, include notable collections such as Gualfsanga Ko Prem (The Rose: An Unusual Love Story) and Asahamatika Pailaharu (Hoofmark of Discord). Dr. Swechcha has also edited The Himalayan Sunrise: Exploring Nepal's Literary Horizon and A Glimpse Into My Country: An Anthology of International Short Stories. Her writing, featured in various international journals and platforms, explores themes of cultural identity, social issues, and the human experience. She has been honored with the ANESAS Nawaratna Award and serves as an Ambassador for Peace with the Universal Peace Federation. Dr. Swechcha’s contributions continue to make a significant impact in global literary circles.
