Khagendra Nepali is a veteran broadcaster and the former Head of the BBC Nepali Service, widely recognized for an enigmatic voice that became a household name in Nepal. His broadcasting career began in the 1970s with Radio Nepal before he joined the BBC in 1979 as its first full staff member.

After his retirement from radio service, with encouragement from friends and scholars such as Kamal Mani Dixit, he released his first audiobook, an oral narrative of B.P. Koirala’s Atmabritanta, which is also considered to be Nepal's first audiobook. Since then, Khagendra has produced several audiobooks, using his legendary voice to bring Nepali literature to life.
