Karna Shakya is an environmentalist, conservationist, hotel entrepreneur, writer, and philanthropist. Born on April 2, 1943, in Kathmandu, he holds a degree in Forestry from the Indian Forest College, Dehradun. Shakya is best known for his contributions to wildlife conservation and his pivotal role in establishing Nepal's first national park. After resigning from his government job, he ventured into tourism and founded the KGH Group of Hotels, which includes eco-friendly hotels across major cities in Nepal. He has also played a significant role in raising cancer awareness and establishing the first cancer hospital in Bharatpur, Nepal. Shakya is the author of several books, including Soch, Khoj, Ma Sakchu, and Moj, and has written a screenplay for the Nepali film Pal. His work spans a range of topics, including environmental issues, self-development, and social awareness.
