कमल थापा राप्रपा नेपालका अध्यक्ष हुन्। उनी पूर्व गृह मन्न्री, टेबलटेनिस खेलाडी र नेपाली फुटबल टिममा पुर्व कप्तान पनि हुन्। उनले अखिल नेपाल फुटबल सङ्घको अध्यक्ष पद २६ वर्षको उमेरमा नै सम्हालेका थिए। कमल थापा, राजा ज्ञानेन्द्रको तत्कालिन सरकारका तर्फबाट गृह मन्न्री थिए। उनी हाल राजतन्त्रको वकालत गर्दछन्। उनले राजनीति शास्त्र र अर्थशास्त्रमा त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालयबाट स्नातकोत्तर गरेका छन्।
Kamal Thapa served as a Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Affairs and Local Development Minister of Nepal Government. He is also current president of Nepal's royalist party, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. He served as a Home Minister during King Gyanendra's direct rule in 2006 until the king was forced to handover power to Girija Prasad Koirala of the Nepali Congress Party and his allies with Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) and Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). He and his party called for a re-establishment of the monarchy through a referendum vote. Thapa claims that no political parties in Nepal have the courage to safeguard Nepali nationality, claiming: "Now the onus lies only with the institution of monarchy to safeguard Nepali sovereignty and national unity."
