Anirban Bhattacharyya wears many hats. He is the Creator, Producer and Writer of the hit true crime TV show Savdhaan India. He is also the Producer of the hit series Crime Patrol and Fear Files. Anirban is the bestselling author of the true crime books India’s Money Heist: The Chelembra Bank Robbery and The Deadly Dozen: India’s Most Notorious Serial Killers. Anirban likes writing across multi-genres and has written the Childrens’ book The Adventurous 6: The Sinister Summer Holiday. His new book is a semi-memoir set in Kalimpong about his days at a boarding school set against the genesis and the subsequent violence of the Gorkhaland agitation of 1986. He has been the Content Head at Channel [v] and The Walt Disney Company (India). He has acted in movies like Sui Dhaaga, Mission Mangal and Opium. His books have been endrosed by Amitabh Bachchan, Ayushmann Khurrana, John Abraham, Anurag Kashyap, S Hussain Zaidi and by national publications. Anirban grew up in a boarding school at Kalimpong. And went on to do his Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata; and a Master’s Degree in Film, Television and Mass Communication from MCRC Jamia, New Delhi.
The Hills Are Burning is a memoir of his growing up years in boarding school at Kalimpong amidst the violence of the Gorkhaland agitation in the late 80s’. It is a coming-of-age emotional roller-coaster with love, violence, friendship, heartbreaks, death and memories.
