Nepathya in Dubai

Nepathya is set to perform in Dubai next week. Come 15th March Friday, Nepathya will perform at the Al Nasr Leisure Land of Dubai, United Arab Amirates.

This will be the band’s 2nd concert in this busy Arab City. Earlier, the band had performed at the same venue in 2015 after the earthquake. The band had performed at the Al Nasr leisure land on 21st May 2015 under the prior agreement to perform. The band had deposited the amount collected from their earlier Dubai concert to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.

‘We are excited to perform at the Al Nasr Ice Skating ground’ said Nepathya front-man Amrit Gurung. Unlike the last concert, this time the song line-up includes more fun and foot tapping numbers’, he added. This will also be the band’s 1st international concert of 2019.

Many Nepali youths migrate to Arab countries in search of jobs due to lack of opportunities back home. UAE holds the highest number of Nepali migrant workers in the middle east after Saudi Arabia and Qatar. These Nepali youths rejoice in the Nepali spirit and revel in Nepali sounds, despite being far from their home and loved ones.

‘It is an honor to perform for those whose hard-work have been a backbone for Nepal’s remittance economy’ said Nepathya front-man Amrit Gurung. He said ‘The band is delighted to perform for the Nepalis in Dubai, who have been deprived from their homes’.

Nepathya’s live music video of ‘Koshi Ko Pani’ was filmed in Dubai during their earlier concert in 2015. The music video is available on Nepathya’s official youtube channel.

‘Even though the earlier concert in Dubai was held in a more somber environment after the earthquake, we were encouraged by the tremendous turnout of people for the concert’, Amrit said. ‘We have agreed to perform in Dubai again due to the positive response from our well-wishers, he added.

The concert in Dubai is being organized by a group of energetic Nepali youths. ‘We are excited to welcome Nepathya again in Dubai in the same venue with state-of the art technical system’ says Mohan Limbu one of the organizers of the Dubai Concert.

Amrit Gurung will be accompanied on stage by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on Keyboards, Subin Shakya on Bass, Niraj Gurung on Guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on Madal.

A 10 member Nepathya entourage is scheduled to leave for Dubai shortly.
