Mobile Library: Nepal Celebration Fortnight

Mobile Library: Nepal invites artists, art students, educators, and art communities to an event that will celebrate the last two years of the project, announce its closure and officially hand the library over to the Central Department of Fine Arts, Tribhuvan University in Kirtipur.

12:00 PM - 2:45 PM
Conversations with individuals who represent archives and libraries in their early stages including Matangi Library, Kala Kulo, Nepal Music Archive, Sri Lanka Archive of Contemporary Art, Architecture & Design, VOW Media. They will discuss the programming, accessibility and challenges of archiving while highlighting how infrastructures of information can accommodate people’s lived experiences.

3:15 PM - 5:00 PM
Closing & Handover Ceremony. We are glad to announce the books and modular bookshelves will be handed over to the Central Department of Fine Arts as a resource for their multidisciplinary art curriculum and the wider arts community.

Mobile Library: Nepal Showcase Exhibition.
The exhibition showcases library books, artworks and bodies of text created by participants during different programs and workshops by Mobile Library: Nepal and our host partners along with carefully curated photographs and documentation. The exhibition opens at 1 PM on the 26th and the following days, everyday from 11 AM till 4 PM.
