Xenophon's 'History' recounts half a century of warfare in Greece. Exiled from Athens for his support of Socrates, Xenophon fought with the Spartans before writing his histories & memoirs. He recounts the last part of the Peloponnesian War, the contest between Athens & Thebes, & the rising might of Persia.
