The Long Road from Kandahar

At the foot of the mountains in Pakistan Raza's future hangs in the balance. On the other side of the world, in his family's ramshackle beach house in Penzance, Finn learns that when summer ends his life will never be the same again. To escape Taliban recruitment Raza must begin a new life in England, far from his beloved father. It is here that he meets Finn whose own family is falling apart while his father leads British troops in Afghanistan. Against the backdrop of Cornwall's windswept shores, as both boys struggle to adjust to a life where they are no longer sheltered from tragedy and heartbreak, a powerful friendship begins. As everything around them starts to unravel one thing remains constant: a bond that will save not just Raza and Finn, but also those they love most.
