Nandini Gupta is an undergraduate studying broadcast journalism and dramatic writing at New York University.
She’s the author of “Daughter of the Night,” her debut novel released in November 2021, recognized as a bestseller in her home country, India. Her second novel, “Queen & King” was released in June 2023.
Besides penning novels, she is an avid reporter, filmmaker, and writer often producing short documentaries and writing feature articles and profiles. She’s worked at the opinion and news analysis desk at Times Now, one of India’s most-watched English news channels. She writes and produces videos for Washington Square News, NYU Local, and Cooper Squared, and previously wrote for Youth Aspiring Magazines. Her work has also been featured in The Times of India, The Indian Express, and WNYU 89.1 FM.
Her video profile of an Iranian musician, "Profile of Sepehr Pirasteh: Iranian Composer and Conductor Based in Philadelphia," and her profile on an NYU math professor, "From 'Mad Minute' to formulating magic and meaning in math" were both nominated for the Hearst Journalism Awards Program.
She pursues playwriting, too, and can often be found helping produce plays in New York.
