Hi Goodreads! My name is Michelle. I run Price Capital LLC, a NYC-based Registered Investment Advisory and Financial Planning firm. I've also appeared on ABC News, PBS' Nightly Business Report, and in the New York Times with investment advice.
I feel like a survivor after working on Wall Street for over 15 years. I'm still here. The past 15 years weren't a joke either -- I did derivatives, quantitative strategies, tax reporting, and electronic trading at places like Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs.
I'm try to be cool, but embrace being a geek. I have BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Rice and Stanford Universities. And I've always loved math. As a kid I would lay on the floor and do math problems. Barbie and Christy played second fiddle to division and multiplication.
I grew up in New Orleans and Houston. I miss Mardi Gras and ribs every single day.
I live in New York City, where I fundraise for children's charities. In particular, Friends of Karen.
While I've been here, I earned black belts in Karate and Taekwondo. I even trained twice with the Korean Olympic team in Seoul. That was a tough experience that maybe I'll write about one day.
I started Modern Wealth Media--a publishing company--in 2012, and am dedicated to creating a place where anyone can learn how to invest. I wrote the blogs and videos, built all of the websites, edited the videos -- even took the pictures. "How to Buy Stocks Online" is the first book published at Modern Wealth Media.
I'm technical and financial, and try to learn everything that I do inside and out. You're in great hands. I would appreciate your support so much.
You can find me on Twitter at @wallstreetgeek. Hope to see you there! And I hope to hear your feedback about "How to Buy Stocks Online".
