I trained as a librarian at the same time I discovered my love of publishing. I worked for Viking Children's Books for 6 years before moving to Virginia for my now-husband to study for his PhD.

Leaving NYC meant returning to my library background. I have worked as a high school librarian, a community college librarian, and a 4-year college librarian. I am now the manager of a library in the Ohio University system.

It took the birth of our daughter and support from a Viking colleague who eventually became my agent for me to try my hand at writing.

I wrote my first book, What Daddies Like, to offer dads of all sorts a book depicting a father and child together. It's surprising how rare it is to find a children's book that gives the dad the spotlight and allows the dad to be the one who gives the baby a bath, gives the baby a goodnight kiss, etc.

Of course I had to balance things out by writing a book for mommies, too--What Mommies Like. Because mommies & daddies like so many of the same things (hugs, quiet time, smooches), the mommy and her cub do something a little different--they take a field trip to the library.

My third book, All Kids Are Good Kids, is a poem about all of the types of kids we encounter, and how they are all good kids no matter what.

2019 was a big year: All Kids Are Good Kids was published in March on the same day as the board book of What Mommies Like, followed by What Daddies Like in April 2019. AND What Mommies Like and What Daddies Like board books were sold in Target (!!) and Wegmans around the country!

2020 was an even BIGGER year: my next book All Kinds of Kindness, published June 2020, was on Amazon's Best Books of the Month list for July AND their Best Books of the YEAR (!!) list in the ages 0-2 category!!!

In this book, readers are reminded of the many ways they can show kindness--from hugging someone afraid of a bug to making a card for a sick friend. I'm hoping my book can encourage families to find ways to be kind in their families, their neighborhoods, their schools--everywhere!
