Charlie English

Charlie English is a British non-fiction author and former head of international news at the Guardian. He’s written three critically-acclaimed books: The Snow Tourist (2008); The Book Smugglers of Timbuktu (2017, published in the US as The Storied City); and The Gallery of Miracles and Madness (2021). He is currently working on his fourth, The CIA Book Club, which tells the story of the covert US effort to smuggle subversive literature into Poland in the Cold War. He lives in London with his family and their border collie, Enzo.
