‘अर्की आइमाई’ नीलमको पहिलो डायस्पोरिक उपन्यास हो । अर्की आइमाई’ उपन्यास श्रस्टाको अमेरिकाको एक्सपोजरमा आधारित भएकाले सशक्त बनेको छ । मुल कथा तन्तु बाहेक अन्य उपकथाका माध्यमले त्यहाँको नेपाली-अमेरिकी संस्कृतिकरणको द्वन्द र अमेरिकी-नेपाली जीवनको पाटोको चित्रण छ । 

Arkhi Aaimai is based on American exposure. Apart from the original narrative, the book represents many subtypes, conflicts of Nepali-American culture and the pattern of the Nepalese-American life.
