Swarnim Wagle

Dr. Swarnim Wagle is a highly respected economist and politician from Nepal. Currently, he serves as the Chief Economic Advisor at the UNDP Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific in New York. Dr. Wagle has an impressive academic background, having studied at top institutions such as the London School of Economics, Harvard University, and the Australian National University. His professional career has been marked by significant contributions to Nepal's economic development, particularly in his role at the National Planning Commission, where he played a pivotal part in shaping policy and leading post-earthquake reconstruction efforts. In 2023, Dr. Wagle was elected to Nepal’s Federal Parliament from Tanahun 1, securing a strong electoral victory. He currently serves as the vice-chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, which has gained attention for its stance on governance and national development. His work bridges economic strategy, development policy, and international collaboration, positioning him as a key figure in both South Asian and global economic discourses.
